Hi, my name is Leanne Trimboli. Thanks for checking out my website, I hope I can help you become a safe, competent & confident driver on our roads.
With 28 years defensive driving experience, my aim is to teach learner drivers how to be safe in all aspects of driving for theirs and everyone else's safety. I will teach learners defensive driving techniques, hazard identification, risk analysis, good decision making, concentration techniques & more in a supportive, relaxing & enjoyable environment.
I am able to adapt my teaching style depending on the learner driver, using different techniques to ensure learners understand & can implement what is required competently & safely.
The name 'Clean Sheet' Driving Academy is a reflection of my sporting background in football as a former Matilda's goal keeper. Driving, like goal keeping, requires good decision making, risk analysis & confidence in ability. Keeping a clean sheet in a game, during a VoRT test or throughout a driver's lifetime is the ultimate goal.

I am able to offer the following services.
Learner Driver Lessons
Learner driver lessons cater for a learner experiencing their first time driving a vehicle, a learner who has completed prior lessons with an instructor or a learner who has only experienced driving with a parent supervising. The first lesson will consist of a vehicle induction, driving instructor commentary drive (where I will drive for a short period commentating on what I am looking at, what risks I identify & how I am going to mitigate those risks, this assists learners to identify holistic road & risk awareness), a learner driving assessment in order to ascertain what level the learner is at so that I can best plan future lessons.
Night Driving Lessons
I am able to take lessons after sunset to provide learner drivers with experience in night time driving, visibility restrictions, distance perception & the safe use of high beam lights to further their learner driver experience.
Highway / Freeway / Expressway Experience
Learning to judge distances when entering or exiting a highway, freeway or expressway, overtaking, braking, judging oncoming traffic at high speeds should be taught before a learner has their provisional licence & is potentially on their own on an open road as mistakes can be catastrophic.
I am able to offer highway, freeway, expressway experience to further the learner driver's knowledge and experience in a range of environments before they are able to drive alone.
Older Driver Lessons
South Australian drivers over 80 years of age are required to complete an annual medical assessment for fitness to drive & a practical driving test.
I am able to assess older driver's skills & provide contemporary advice relative to the Australian Road Rules, upskill the driver in hazard perception, risk assessment & defensive driving skills in the hope that, if safe, the driver can pass their practical test and retain their licence & independence.
If I identify that an older driver is unfortunately no longer safe on the road, I will compassionately provide honest advice to the driver &/or family (with consent).
Basic Off Road / Dirt Driving Skills
In a country like Australia, learning to maintain control of a vehicle whilst cornering & braking on a dirt road, in my opinion, should be compulsory during the learner driver process.
I am able to offer basic off/dirt road (not 4wd) driving experience to ensure learners can select the right position on a dirt road, maintain control of their vehicle when cornering & braking on a dirt road.
International Drivers Licence Conversion Lessons
International drivers have 3 months to attain an Australian driver's licence. I am able to teach international drivers compliance with the Australian Road Rules & conditions to ensure they can drive in Australian roads safely & in compliance with the law.
Interpreters are welcome to join lessons to assist with language barriers.
Parent Lessons to Assist Teaching Kids
For a lot of learner drivers, the majority of their learning is done with a parent. Experienced drivers are often very safe on the road however have developed some habits which are not consistent with the requirements for learners.
I am able to offer short lessons for parents to reestablish correct sequencing & maneuvering in order for the learner driver to develop consistent habits whilst driving which will assist them in passing their VoRT.
Learn to Tow a Trailer
I am able to offer lessons whilst towing a trailer to ensure safe driving whilst the total vehicle length is greater than normal & whilst the total vehicle weight is heavier which effects many aspects of driving.
Learn to safely hitch a trailer, check lights, cornering, reversing & safe braking distances under heavy load.

Learner Driver Lessons:

Warm up drive & VoRT $400 - $550 - 2 hours (price depends on availability of an Authorised Examiner as they all charge different prices)
Night Driving Lessons $140p/h
Highway / Freeway / Expressway Lessons (travel to Murray Bridge, Victor Harbor or Port Wakefield ($350 approx) or Nuriootpa ($250 approx) & back. Price may change depending on the pick-up & drop off location.
Older Driver Lessons $150 - 60 minutes (lesson only, this is NOT the practical driving test to retain a licence)
Basic Offroad / Dirt Driving Skills $200 - 60 minutes (Port Gawler & other locations)

The vehicle is fitted with a secondary brake, this is a legal requirement for all driving instructors in South Australia.
For additional safety, training & quality assurance, the vehicle is fitted with a high definition Navman 4K dash camera that captures what is happening on the road in front & behind the vehicle, as well as audio from inside the cabin.
The dash camera monitors speed & locations & provides alerts for school zones, speed cameras & black spots.
Footage can easily be downloaded for viewing, reviewing, saving & sharing of footage if requested (*prior to it being over-written).
I have also installed two extra rear-view mirrors which allows me to have full view of the rear of the vehicle and blind spots.

This depends on how much experience a learner has, whether with another instructor or with a supervising driver.
It can also depend on the learner's level of confidence (or over confidence).
I will not exploit a learner, at the point they are ready & I am confident they will pass their VoRT test I will recommend they book in for their VoRT.
I understand that circumstances change & there may be an occasion where you need to cancel a lesson. If less than 24hrs cancellation notice 50% of the fee will be retained. Please call me to discuss your circumstances.

The parent, guardian or next of kin will be notified immediately & the matter will be reported to SA Police. If there is an injury, the South Australian Ambulance Service will be notified to attend to assess.
I am comprehensively insured as a driving instructor. If there is substantial damage to my vehicle or another (at fault accidents) you will be required to pay 50% of the insurance excess to have the vehicle/s fixed.
Yes. I can pick you up from your home address, school or work. I can collect students from their home address & drop them to their school (within reasonable distance) Or collect students from school & return them home. (again within reason).
I conduct lessons for learners to prepare them for their VoRT (Vehicle on Road Test). I have a list of Authorised Examiners who have been recommended to me by other trusted instructors.
When ready, I will contact an Authorised Examiner to make a VoRT booking (see fees). The VoRT will be conducted in my vehicle after a 'warm up' drive with me which can be for 1 or 2 hours as desired. During the 'warm up' drive I will ensure the learner practices all 5 maneuvers to ensure they feel confident going into the VoRT.
Footage may be made available on request depending on the circumstances.
Please note the footage is over-written so requests will need to be made in a timely manner.
Requested footage is NOT PERMITTED to be uploaded to any social media platform.

IDENTIFICATION
As part of the booking process I will request an image of your driver's licence to prove identity & licence validity. Neither the image or details recorded on your licence will be provided to any other persons / entity unless required by SA Police.
RECORD KEEPING
As part of the booking process I will create an electronic student profile with your name (first & last), Parents name/s & contact details (if learner is under 18 years of age), Email address, Phone number, Date of birth, Drivers licence number, State of issue & type, Driving experience level, Special considerations, Referral source, Progress notes, Special considerations, VoRT date, Location, Authorised Examiner used, VoRT result (reason for failure if applicable), image use consent & any other relevant information will be stored. These details will not be provided to any other persons / entity unless required by SA Police.
RECORDINGS
The Navman Dashcam installed in the vehicle records in cabin audio. By making a booking with me you are consenting to a recording being made. The recording will not be provided to any other persons / entity unless required by SA Police. Footage & recordings are stored on the micro SD card & unless saved are overwritten once the card is full. The footage & recordings will only be saved if required by SA Police or if a complaint is made.
You are NOT PERMITTED to make your own recording of any lesson or interaction with me without my consent. Recording anyone without their permission is a breach of the Surveillance Devices Act, 2016. SURVEILLANCE DEVICES ACT 2016

However, if you breach a road law & I receive an expiation notice as the registered owner of the vehicle, I will complete a statutory declaration & have the expiation notice re issued to you using your licence details.
